Highlands Christian College Visit (FINAL DAY) 🍵
Our final day with the students from Highlands Christian College was a truly special one, as they experienced one of Japan's most treasured traditions—the Japanese Tea Ceremony. 🍵✨

We were honoured to welcome the instructors from Cha Know You, the NPO organisation that also supports us at the Perth Japan Festival, to lead this cultural experience.

Dressed beautifully in yukata, both the students and teachers were fully immersed in the atmosphere from the very beginning. 👘🌸

They learned about the spirit of the tea ceremony, including the meaning of kekkai (the symbolic boundary that creates a respectful and mindful space). They watched tea being carefully prepared, then took turns serving one another traditional Japanese sweets and matcha, experiencing the true spirit of omotenashi (Japanese hospitality) and Wa, the harmony and respect at the heart of Japanese culture.

Everyone looked wonderful in their yukata, making the tea ceremony even more elegant and memorable. ✨

With this, all of the programmes at Kanto Daiichi High School came to a close. At the closing ceremony, Headmaster Oppata presented each student with a Certificate of Completion in recognition of their participation.

Although it was only one week, we hope our guests experienced many different sides of Japan and Tokyo, creating memories and friendships that will stay with them for years to come.

Thank you for being part of our school community.

See you again soon! 🤝
